Although this image SOLD many years ago, it was always a favorite of mine. 

I did it when I lived on Maui, so the tropical influence was with me for certain.

It is a watercolor on a watercolor board.. and was done in the days I frequently used a lot of divisional backgrounds. 

Somehow this type of painting still holds up today. I still use this technique at times and still love doing it. It makes the artist really think.

Playground Escape..Abstract.. Watercolor and Liquid Acrylics..Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

     This is another fun ABSTRACT in watercolors and liquid acrylics on watercolor paper.
I pass a play gym every day when I walk my dogs in the park, and the colors are always such fun.. All those angles are very eye catching to me as an artist.
It goes to show the many ways an artist can be inspired huh?

Design 1...Watercolor and Gouache, Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

I began doing these small designs just to map out and 'plot' an idea for a large canvas. I got so involved, I have not tackled the larger formats yet.

This image is only 4" x 4"

Sometimes I wonder if I will live long enough to be able to paint the ideas I have in my head..:)))
