Last Light Over the Hills Frayssinet, France..Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews


Another landscape of the area around Frayssinet in southwest France . This area is dotted with sheep farms, and wonderful pastures.

I just happened to be walking at twilight and saw this heavenly sky, just had to try and do it justice.

I also love this panoramic format, challenging but perfect for this genre.

The substrate is a sanded paper, not sure which one, but it's not Sennelier. Maybe Wallis?

Diving into my stock drawer is a bit of a lucky dip with selecting my papers for pastels. :))

                                              This image is 9" x 25"unframed.

Twilight Display..Pastel..Texas artist..Rae Andrews



A small landscape  in pastels on Sennelier paper. 

I am working on simple but dramatic landscapes right now, hence the sunset colors and silhouetted trees.
